Couple's Retreat

This afternoon we took to the Maine woods for a canoe moose safari. We had two married couples with us, as well as a brother and sister. They were a great group! Everyone had a fun time and we took lots of group photos. We got to see a small cow by a stream in the woods and three hares.

We had a fantastic time with these couples and hope that they visit again at Northeast Guide Service.

A Large Group from All Over

Today we left for a van moose safari with a packed group! We had 11 people with us, so we knew that it'd be an enthusiastic and fun trip. We left a little late from Northeast Guide Center, but we still had lots of luck in spotting some wildlife. We saw four moose, deer, and even a couple hares! It was a great trip. We hope that everyone had a fantastic time seeing the north Maine woods!

An Early Morning Moose Safari

Today we took to the north Maine woods early on a misty morning. We saw Four moose total, three of which we large bulls. When we arrived at the pond we saw some moose feeding at our entrance. We were happy to be able to see so much from right on shore!

During our moose safari canoe tour we spotted the forth moose, a cow this time, and a dear. We finished off the tour with a spotting of two loons. Northeast guide service was successful again! We had an amazing time with this couple from Tampa Florida. We hope that they come back to visit us soon!

A long way from home

Today was exciting because we had people from New York and Switzerland! It was a rainy afternoon, but we carried on and made our way to the pond.
It was worth the trip when we got to watch a moose feed for over 20 minutes! We had plenty of time to take lots of pictures and see what the moose are like in the wild north Maine woods. We also got to see some fox and hear and watch loons on the pond.
The thunder and lightening held off until we were on our way back to the Northeast Guide Service center. It was fun getting to know people that traveled from far away too see our moose safari!

Thunder Storm Safari

Today we had a lovely family from Texas on an afternoon tour in the north Maine woods. The thunder and lightening were intense, but the moose didn't mind. It was the perfect weather to do the moose safari by van. We were thrilled to see four moose! We spotted one bull, two cows, and a yearling. Some other wildlife that the northeast guide pointed out were a fox and a hare. It was an excellent way to enjoy both nature and the thunder storm!

I Think We Met the Moose Lady!

Leaving from Greenville, Maine on this late May evening, I was surprised to meet a new moose lover on our Maine Moose Tour. Even though our group was only myself and the "moose lady," she truly had enough enthusiasm for a large group! As we took to the North Maine Woods, we saw two moose in the road! Entranced by their light and dark coats, we carried on to the pond. We began our walk and were stopped by four deer meandering along the trails. This was just the beginning of the wildlife we were going to see! While we sat paddling in the canoe, the "moose lady" was delighted to see a large bull eating in the pond. What a success for Northeast Guide Service! It is always an amazing experience to be on a wildlife safari with another moose lover. We heard the echos of two loons swimming around the pond. We saw two ducks swimming as well, maybe looking for a good place to nest. Even though the weather was a little windy, it didn't keep away all of the beautiful wildlife that we got to interact with!

Morning moose tour with Mainers!

It was a beautiful morning in Maine! Our morning moose tour began at 6 AM with two friends from Westport Island, Maine. These two ladies were on a getaway, to relax and enjoy a drive and see wildlife. We definitely fulfilled their request!
We took to the woods in search of moose and other wildlife. There were plenty of deer out this morning, with big white tails. The galloped across the roads in front of us on many occasions. We arrived at the pond and to our luck a bull moose was eating his morning breakfast on the pond. The wind was blowing down stream, so there was no chance of the moose catching a whiff of us! We had the opportunity to watch the moose for quite a while. Brenda mentioned that even though she has seen moose in the past, it's neat to see them on a pond, in their natural state, simply eating.
On the trip back to Greenville, Maine we saw another moose, smaller cow standing alongside the roadway. She wasn't very photogenic and was more interested in getting away than having her photo taken. The view on our ride back of Moosehead Lake was spectacular! Beautiful blue skies are shining in Maine and we are happy to be out and about, Moosin' Around with Northeast Guide Service!
