We had a couple from New York join us last night on a private moose tour for the husband's birthday. They went on an evening canoe tour, even though it was rainy it was a great day to see moose! Moose on Memorial Day!





Yesterday was Memorial Day. Although it wasn't particularly a sunny day we still had a great turn out for our moose safari. We had diverse group of nine people join us with good spirit and conversation on a rainy night of moose watching. The group got to see three moose including; one large bull moose and two cows. The group also got to see other great wildlife Maine has to offer such as deer and hare. The rainy night proved to be  a good tour.

Bring The Whole Family Down and See Some Moose

 This morning we had a family, a man from Acadia, and a couple from New York come with us for an early morning moose safari. At six am and the weather already sunny it proved to be a great day. The group got to see two moose and Maine loons. The guest also got the special treat of seeing a pregnant moose swimming in a pond. It was a beautiful morning all around for the group.

Picture Perfect Moose Safari

Last night we went on a private moose tour with one person who was a wildlife photographer. He was interested in being up close to the moose in order to take pictures of the majestic creatures. We went on a canoe tour and even though it was cloudy and it was raining a little bit we had a great time. We saw a total of four moose, three of them were cows, we also saw loons and other wildlife. It was a great opportunity to take pictures and just enjoy nature.

Memorial Day Weekend and Moose Mainea




On Wednesday May 23rd we went on an evening moose safari with a couple from New York. It was a beautiful day for a canoe tour, it was clear and hot outside. We saw 5 moose, 4 cow and a yearling. We also saw a hare and other wildlife that was enjoying the cooling effects of the pond.


Last night we had three people join Northeast Guide Service on a moose safari, we had a couple from New York as well as guy who had been on at least 5 other moose tours in and around the area. We went on an evening canoe tour, it was cloudy and a little windy, but over all it was a great experience. We saw a total of 5 moose, 2 bulls, 2 cows and a yearling. We also saw deer and some other wildlife. It was a great experience, when we were paddling out onto the pond the moose came out as though they were waiting for us.

This morning we had 2 couples, one from Massachusetts and one from Colorado who joined us on a morning canoe tour. It was a bit windy and overcast but that didn't stop the moose from making their appearances. We saw a total of four moose, two bull moose, a cow and a yearling. We also saw some assorted birds. It was very windy on the pond, there were some challenges with that, but overall we had a great time.

The Time For Newborn Calves Has Arrived!

The time of year has come when calves are being born! The next few days are typically when the moose are giving birth to their calves, this is a great time to come on a moose safari and to see the very pregnant cows as well as the cows with their brand new calves, some only hours old! On Tuesday we had a fantastic moose safari. A couple from New York joined us on a canoe tour and we saw an amazing amount of moose. We saw 11 in total. We saw 5 bull, 5 cows and a yearling. We also saw deer, loons and hare. It was quite an adventure, everywhere we looked there was wildlife. It was especially fascinating to see a mother and her calf interacting. It was a great way to spend the evening. As this week goes on more and more newborn calves should be emerging to greet the world for the first time. Moose, Moose, and More Moose!

Yesterday we had an exciting day full of moose safaris. We had two tours going out, one in the morning and one in the evening.

On our morning tour we had a couple from Germany. They have visited the western part of the United States and they wanted to see the east. We had a great time on our canoe tour. We saw an abundance of wildlife and a beautiful sunny morning, it was a great day to be out on the pond paddling around. We saw a total of 5 moose, 2 loons, and a hare. When we saw a moose, there was always another just around the corner each time.




Our evening tour was also fantastic. The weather was wonderful, it was very clear out. We had a mother and daughter who joined us as well as a lovely couple all the way from Germany. We saw deer and three moose. We had a lot of fun with some great mixed conversation.








With the increasingly nice weather and ample wildlife it is the perfect time to join us on one of our moose safaris. Canoeing on the pond alone is a great experience, with the added pleasure of seeing many moose, deer, loons, foxes, and hare.

Sunshine, Wildlife & Moose in Maine

Last night we had four couples join us on a nighttime moose safari in canoes. The weather was perfect with a little breeze out on the pond. The perfect weather recently has caused an abundance of moose and other wildlife to make an appearance during our moose tours. The couples got to see five moose; three bulls and two cows. The couples also got to witness other beautiful Maine wildlife last night including many deer, loons, and foxes. The beautiful sunset, weather, and plentiful wildlife made the tour a great success.

On May 19th, we had a young couple take a evening moose safari with us. The weather made for a perfect moose watching night. The couple got to see three moose including one bull and two cows. The couple also got to witness other great wildlife that Maine has to offer. We saw several deer and hares. Last night was a great night for a moose safari. We had a couple go on an evening moose watching tour with us. Although the night was chilly and windy, moose were in abundance. The couple got to see a total of six moose including a bull, cow, and four yearlings. They also got to experience other beautiful deer and Maine loons.

Escape to the Moosehead Lake Region





On Monday we had a great day on a moose safari in the Moosehead Lake Region.  The day was partly cloudy with a little wind. We had two couples take a moose safari with us. One couple from Arizona were on a vacation to Maine to escape their hectic lives as a teacher and cardiologist. The other couple were on a quiet retreat to Maine from their busy careers as a nurse and a court security guard in Delaware. The couples joined us on a nighttime bus ride. While on the tour, they couples got to see five moose including one bull, three cows, and one yearling. Along with some moose, the couples got to see some other great wildlife that Maine has to offer; five deer, two loons, and a hare. The couple also spotted four beaver dams. Monday was a great day to see an abundance of beautiful Maine scenery and wildlife.

A Lovely Sightseeing Night for Maine Moose Watching



Saturday was a lovely day for a moose watching tour in Maine. Love was in the air for a couple from New York who had quite an interesting history together. Starting out as high school sweethearts, the couple broke up for 27 years. Both having different relationships during those years, they could never rekindle their love for each other. They finally met up for lunch one day and instantly fell back in love. While walking the glass walkway at the Grand Canyon he took a leap of a lifetime and proposed. While on a vacation to Maine, the couple took a scenic night canoe moose tour with us. We took the couple out to local ponds and roads where they saw four moose including two bulls, a cow, and a yearling, They also got to witness other beautiful wildlife; deer, loons, hares, and a huge beaver.

College Student Getaway to Maine

It was a rather windy day, but with some low clouds the hills were a breathtaking sight in a canoe for this college student getaway to Maine. It was a perfect day for a recent college graduate, Larry to celebrate his newest accomplishment with a scenic moose safari with us. Larry recently graduated from a college out in west Michigan and decided to take a long vacation to beautiful Maine. Larry got to see some great wildlife that Maine has to offer; two deer, two loons, and a hare. Larry was also taken to two beaver dams and was able to get up close to both dams, it was the cherry on top of the safari.

South African Safari? Not quite, but Moose Safari for sure!

Moose Safaris are now in full swing! Yesterday we went on a moose safari with a couple from Massechusetts who were in Maine for their sons college graduation. They loved their safari in South Africa and wanted to experience one in Maine as well! They even brought their safari hats! What's a better way to experience Maine than to get outdoors and go look for wildlife? It was a beautiful night for a moose safari, it was a very clear and calm evening. The sunset was unbelievable! We saw four moose, three deer, and a loon! It was an exciting evening and a great preview for what the season is going to entail!

Wildlife Watching Canoe Tour

It's May and moose season!

Glenn led one of this weekend's May moose canoe tours.  This family set up a private moose safari with us.  The rain passed and it turned out to be a beautiful and sunny afternoon for wildlife watching.  Glenn mentioned that this family has traveled a lot together.  They enjoy fishing, hiking and just being in the great outdoors.  They had the fortunate luck of seeing 5 moose on today's moose safari and canoed on a beautiful pond to take in the scenery, as well as see loons and ducks.  Thanks for joining us this weekend on a canoe tour to see moose in Maine.

Leaves and Flowers!

The rain has finally arrived and with it so have the leaves and flowers! Spring is finally getting into full swing here up in the Moosehead lake region. The cold winter is slowly fading into a thing of the past. The animals are enjoying this new season, you can hear the peeper frogs celebrating their survival of the tough winter months. There have been many animal sightings that have occurred in the past week or two. We have seen porcupines, deer, moose, several types of birds and even a black bear!
